Handmade exclusive Takayama matcha whisk (Chasen) from Japan. Made from real black/purple bamboo in traditional japanese style with extra curved bristles. This is THE Chasen!

Each whisk is a unique handcraft with a tradition over 25 generations, where every single bristle is carved and shaped with a special knife and carefully knitted – one by one – with a green thread to perfection.

Unlike mass-produced matcha whisks, these are completely handmade without the use of machinery or chemicals to speed up the bamboo growth, drying or shaping. Which instead requires enormous time and skill to make.

The Takayama chasen have finer more flexible bristles and a greater attention to details, this making the whisk not only more beautiful, but also easier and more fun to use and more durable in the long run.
